For the Adventurers
Love the call of the wild? Go Take A Hike is your gateway to the most stunning trails in Meade County and beyond. From the rugged beauty of Otter Creek Park to scenic riverfront vistas, this is where you’ll find outdoor experiences that get your heart racing and your boots muddy (in the best way).
For the History Buffs
Step back in time with a visit to the Meade County History Museum, where the stories of pioneers, soldiers, and legends come to life. Wander through Otter Creek Park, a site steeped in history, or trace the old Buffalo Roads to Boone, where echoes of the past still linger on Kentucky’s most historic trails.
For the Lovers of the Strange & Spooky
If you prefer your adventures with a side of spine-tingling mystery, Meade County delivers. The Battletown Witch Festival honors the tragic tale of Leah Smock—the real-life Battletown Witch, who was wrongly accused and became the last woman burned as a witch in America. Each year, thousands gather to celebrate her story, embrace the supernatural, and take part in the largest Witches Dance gathering in Kentucky.
